NOTES:

20nov06--- Busy with laundry room remodelling. Added Westinghouse 503 to museums (real and web).

8-10oct06--- salvage, and re-glue bottom and top of DR-102U. Cut new sides from banana board (thin plywood).

5oct06--- rebuilt the delaminated back of the Brand & Millen DR-102U using an old clipboard.

2oct06--- There was a Troy Radio Mfg. Co. but we don't think they should be confused as the maker of this "Troy" set. This appears to be an early RCA radio. Careful examination of a faded label on the back of this set shows a barely readable RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA at the label's top. No model number discernable. Tube socket markings indicate 47, 47, 47, 80 as tubes. This might be a 4 tube TRF radio.... will know better if and when we get a schematic for it.   Interestingly Troy Radio Mfg. Co. did make a Model 14 which uses 2A5, 57, 58, 80.

Markings on the back of the GE model 600 show three model numbers C600, C601, and C602. Interestingly this GE radio is an "all square" veneered wood case that shows the industry's move away from the labour intensive round edged and inlaid cabinets of earlier years. Check out the GE model C-600 in the Plastic Radio section. It was photographed at auction. We think it is the same chassis with a bakelite wrapper. Again, with the plastic cases model is evidence of the move to cheaper cabinetry... in the late 40's and early 1950's we believe.
